Julie Chor, MD, MPH
Associate Professor of Obstetrics and Gynecology
Dr. Chor specializes in patient-centered gynecologic and reproductive healthcare for adolescents and young adults. With Dr. Chor’s clinical medical ethics training, she has concentrated her academic research on medical ethics, patient-centered care provision, and trauma-responsive care for adolescents and young adults. Neha Bhardwaj, MD, MS
Assistant Professor of Obstetrics and Gynecology
Dr. Bhardwaj specializes in obstetrics and gynecology with a primary focus on family planning and contraception. In addition to her commitment to comprehensive clinical care for women, Dr. Bhardwaj is also passionate about using research to improve reproductive healthcare and access to care. Hillary McLaren, MD MS
Assistant Professor of Obstetrics and Gynecology
Dr. McLaren specializes in obstetrics and gynecology with a specialization in complex family planning. Her clinical, educational and research interests include abortion and contraception care for the medically complex patient, first and second trimester pregnancy loss, sexual and reproductive healthcare for gender diverse individuals, and gynecologic ultrasound. Eryn Wanyonyi, MD
Complex Family Planning Fellow
Dr. Wanyonyi is a 2nd year Complex Family Planning Fellow at the University of Chicago. She is passionate about providing and improving access to comprehensive evidence-based reproductive healthcare, including abortion and contraception. Dr. Wanyonyi’s clinical, research, and education interests include Black maternal health, reproductive justice, advocacy, health policy, health equity, adolescent sexual/reproductive health, global health, and exploring the intersections of performing arts and medical education.
Jocelyn Wascher, MD
Complex Family Planning Fellow
Dr. Wascher is a current Complex Family Planning fellow at the University of Chicago and a fellow at the MacLean Center for Clinical Medical Ethics. In addition to pursuing specialized clinical training in complex contraception and abortion care, she is passionate about health services research to reduce disparities in reproductive healthcare. With her training in medical ethics, she plans to employ a bioethical framework in her research on reproductive healthcare policy and outcomes.
Camille Johnson, MD
Complex Family Planning Fellow
Dr. Johnson is a 1st year Complex Family Planning Fellow. She is excited to pursue fellowship training centered on comprehensive reproductive healthcare at the University of Chicago. Dr. Johnson’s clinical and research interests include intersections between complex family planning and obstetric care, reproductive justice, using complex family planning to improve Black maternal mortality, healthcare inequity, and community-based approaches to improving abortion care and access.
Lee Hasselbacher, JD
Research Assistant Professor, Ci3 Faculty Director
Lee conducts qualitative research to understand the implementation and impact of reproductive health policy. In her research, she explores topics such as access to contraception and abortion, insurance coverage for reproductive health care, adolescent access, and religious refusals in health care. She collaborates with health providers, advocates, community organizations and government agencies to support evidence-based policy.

Mason Arrington
Game Design Director
Mason provides game design expertise and leadership for Ci3’s game projects including digital games like Bystander and other analog games from the Center’s suite of Health Academy (HHA) games. As a game designer, he has developed several effective analog games for the Center’s multi-year HHA intervention, funded by the National Institutes of Health.
Robin Cogdell, MFA
Visual Communications Designer
Robin creates illustrations, graphics, and media that visually enhance the work of Ci3. They have led the Center’s branding style guide in addition to helping brand and design Ci3 games including Pipeline, Step Up, and Babytown. Robin earned an MFA from Columbia College Chicago. Their favorite quote is by Dr. Neil deGrasse Tyson: “The good thing about science is that it’s true whether or not you believe it.”
Amanda Geppert, MPH, MDM

Sophie Knifton
Research Assistant
Sophie supports the research team on projects related to abortion, contraception, and adolescent health. She joined Ci3 as a fourth-year undergraduate student at the University of Chicago, conducting research on college student emergency contraception use for her honors thesis. A dedicated health educator, she formerly worked for UChicago Student Wellness as part of the health promotion team and taught high school health education through Peer Health Exchange. As a student, Sophie also led an initiative to expand emergency contraception access on-campus, launching a distribution program with the Center for the Study of Gender and Sexuality that provides free levonorgestrel pills for students and community members. Outside of work, she enjoys live music, film photography, and traveling.
Vanya Manthena, MPH
Research Coordinator
Vanya is a Research Coordinator with a Public Health background working across projects in the section of family planning, and maternal and fetal medicine. She manages IRB submissions and conducts research implementation for projects focused on improving health outcomes. Prior to her current role, she practiced Dentistry in India for two years, promoting oral health and addressing health disparities through community outreach initiatives. Outside of her professional pursuits, Vanya enjoys hiking and spending time in local coffee shops.
Madeline Quasebarth, MHS, MA
Research and Communications Lead
Madeline Quasebarth MHS, MA supports Ci3’s research and transmedia interventions as a public health researcher and designer. A multimedia artist with a research background in sexual and reproductive health, Madeline has extensive experience supporting projects at the University of Chicago’s Chicago Center for HIV Elimination, Johns Hopkins University’s Advance Family Planning, California Institute for Integral Studies, and Planned Parenthood of Illinois. Madeline is currently pursuing a Doctorate in Public Health, in the department of Social and Behavioral Sciences at Tulane University. Her debut novel, Don’t Breed on Me: A Short History of Abortion will be published Fall 2025 by PM press. Outside of work she enjoys painting, reading, and trying (and failing) to train her dog.

Ashish Premkumar, MD, PhD
Assistant Professor of Obstetrics and Gynecology
Dr. Premkumar is a practicing maternal-fetal medicine subspecialist and a cultural and medical anthropologist. He specifically works at the intersection of maternal-fetal intervention and complex family planning, specifically second and third-trimester abortion. His research portfolio seeks to answer key questions in optimizing reproductive health outcomes in the setting of fetal anomalies using methodologies derived from his training in the social sciences and traditional biomedical research methodologies.
